Say hello to a sweet and spicy shampoo bar, just as aromatic as those holiday orange and clove pomanders you used to make as a kid!  Here are a few benefits of the essential oils we use in this bar.  Clove is considered an antiseptic with antimicrobial, anti-fungal and antiviral properties when applied topically.  Clove also has a high antioxidant capacity and the essential oil is said to kill many strains of bacteria, fungi and viruses.  Orange essential oil is considered an anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, and has been known to promote collagen as well as increase blood flow to skin. It is helpful in healing dry and cracked skin and skin that may be acne prone. Orange oil is also considered an insect repellant.

Castor oil is an excellent humectant for hair. It has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, and can be used as a treatment for hair thinning and hair loss. Castor oil is also helpful in preventing a dry, itchy scalp.
 
Shea butter provides moisture for a dry and flaky scalp. It helps reduce dryness and breakage of the hair strand, which over time will result in longer healthier hair.
